Here are seven easy steps to reduce your heating bill this winter:
- Use heavy drapes over your windows.
- Put draft stoppers under the outside doors.
- Put plastic over your drafty windows.
- Turn your thermostat to 55-65 degrees at night at about 65 degrees during the day.
- Close off any unused rooms and use alternate heat when you use said rooms.
- Put weather-stripping and caulk around doors and windows.
- Lower the thermostat on your water heater.
