Children of the Corn!

If you’re looking to get out of the house and find something for the whole family to enjoy that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, then you certainly need to take part in the fun fall tradition known as corn mazes. After the corn has been harvested, several area farms will cut the field in a pattern for the general public to enjoy as a maze. It’s an inexpensive, fun treat for the family this fall.

First up is  “http://www.uncle-bob.com/” Uncle Bob’s Pumpkin Patch, located in Newnan, Georgia, where you will find a Sorghum Sudan grass maze, pumpkins, a beehive barn with an observation beehive, a chicken house with an incubator you can see inside, and a gift shop full of pumpkin butter and ciders. They’ve even got a bat theater with a Q & A about bats, demonstrations of how to spin, dye, and felt wool, puppet shows, and picnic tables for you to enjoy lunch. Your family will have a wonderful time!  “http://www.uncle-bob.com/” Uncle Bob’s Pumpkin Patch opens September 21 and tickets are $9 for everyone over the age of three, free for those under three.

The corn maze at Cagle’s Dairy Farm is an Atlanta tradition that includes two mazes. The “http://caglescornmaize.com/hickory-flat-maize/” first corn maze is ten acres in size and is located in Hickory Flat, Georgia. There is also a hay ride, a bonfire, a jumpee pillow, and food concession. The second corn maze is 30 acres in size with ten of those acres being “haunted”.

This “http://caglescornmaize.com/resaca-maize/” second maze is located in Resaca and also offers hay rides, bonfires, a jumpee pillow and food concession. Check out the  “http://caglescornmaize.com/hickory-flat-maize/” Hickory Flat or the  “http://caglescornmaize.com/resaca-maize/” Resaca maze sites for more information about ticket prices, hours, and pictures of the maze designs.
So, get out and get lost. You’ll have a great time doing it!
